The Visitor by Leonard Klady Dario Argento’s Mother of Tears is far more gross on the face of it (and the ass of it and the intestines of it and the brain of it, etc) than Eli Roth’s Hostel or Hostel 2. Like Hostel 2, there is naked woman on naked woman violence, there is blood everywhere, and there is cruelty aplenty.
	Atonement by David Poland I like this movie. I do. I like all the performances. I like most of the imagery. But for a tiny film, it’s rather bloated.

	Elizabeth: The Golden Age by David Poland I’ll keep it simple. The movie has way too much story, way too few places where an audience can link in emotionally, an absolute waste of a parade of excellent Oscar-nominated and winning actors including Clive Owens, Samantha Morton and this time, even Geoffrey Rush, enough music to choke an iPod, and a hyperkinetic parade of cool, but logic-free shots that at some point feels like you are choking on the Scott Brothers’ leftovers.
	I'm Not There by David Poland I’m Not There is all there. Six, six, yes, six Bob Dylans in all, the latest from Todd Haynes seems to aspire to an excess of clever and a dangerous dance with pretense, but remarkably, in a 2 hour 18 minute running time, turns out to be a very demanding, but very clear-minded piece of filmmaking
	Margo at the Wedding by David Poland The fact is, I could not have imagined how much of a failure a Baumbach screenplay could be after turning in such a well structured, character supported screenplay just a couple of years ago. And that is where the deep problem lies in this film.
