SHORELINE CATCHES BROOKLYN LOBSTER

TORONTO – Shoreline Entertainment has acquired Kevin Jordan’s BROOKLYN LOBSTER for worldwide sales. Presented by Martin Scorsese, BROOKLYN LOBSTER will make its World Premiere Sept. 9th as an official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival.

LOBSTER stars Danny Aiello and Jane Curtin and centers on a Brooklyn workingman struggling against the foreclosure of his lobster farm, which is inspired by Jordan’s own family’s lobster shop. Jordan wrote and directed the picture, and served as producer along with his brother, Darren Jordan, and Chris Valentino.

“BROOKLYN LOBSTER is a fantastic, exquisitely made film that is crafted with genuine emotion and levity,” says Shoreline CEO Morris Ruskin. “We are very excited and extremely proud with having the opportunity to introduce this film to the worldwide marketplace for everyone to see.”

Shoreline will sell LOBSTER under its Watermark label, which is an imprint designed to spotlight quality films. The picture joins festival stalwarts like the Sundance Film Festival world premiere selections “Swimmers” and “Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing & Charm School.”

“We are thrilled to be with Shoreline Entertainment,” says director Kevin Jordan. “They have an impressive history and a strong reputation with handling independent films. It is the perfect home for BROOKLYN LOBSTER.”

Jordan’s previous feature film, “Smiling Fish and Goat on Fire,” won the Discovery award as a world premiere selection at the 1999 Toronto International Film Festival. He also directed the documentary “AntiTrust: Edison vs. Laemmle” and the short films “Feather Pimento” and “An Ode to the Writer.”

Shoreline currently has “Everything’s Gone Green,” based on a Douglas Coupland screenplay, starring Paulo Costanzo and directed by Paul Fox, in post-production.

The BROOKLYN LOBSTER deal was negotiated by Shoreline’s Morris Ruskin and the Film’s Darren Jordan.
