Review:
Seeing
Catwoman after months of speculation is like, well, putting
out a fire with gasoline.
Roger
Ebert: Catwoman" is a movie about Halle Berry's
beauty, sex appeal, figure, eyes, lips and costume design. It
gets those right. Everything else is secondary, except for the
plot, which is tertiary.
Lou
Lumenick: Given
the feeble script attributed to four writers and
the inept direction by a Frenchman who understandably resorts
to the pseudonym of Pitof, its small wonder that Warner
Bros. divorced Catwoman from the Batman franchise, and Nicole
Kidman wisely turned the role down.
CHUD:
Plenty of people are going to hate Catwoman for endlessly good
reasons. The worst thing about the film is that its badness never
transcends to truly glorious dimensions, robbing the viewer of
the pleasure of basking in the kind of transcendent awfulness
we get in the person of Kyle MacLachlans Zack, or the every
breath of Elizabeth Berkleys Nomi
IGN
FilmForce: Catwoman's one saving grace is camp value.
If you walk into the movie and lower your expectations, and I
mean really, really lower them, you can have a good time. If the
filmmakers had realized and accepted what a turkey they had on
their hands, they could have turned up the camp and made the movie
more fun.

The
story of shy, sensitive artist Patience Philips, a woman who cant
seem to stop apologizing for her own existence. She works as a
graphic designer for Hedare Beauty, a mammoth cosmetics company
on the verge of releasing a revolutionary anti-aging product.
When Patience inadvertently happens upon a dark secret her employer
is hiding, she finds herself in the middle of a corporate conspiracy.
What happens next changes Patience forever. In a mystical twist
of fate, she is transformed into a woman with the strength, speed,
agility and ultra-keen senses of a cat. With her newfound prowess
and feline intuition, Patience becomes Catwoman, a sleek and stealthy
creature balancing on the thin line between good and bad. Like
any wildcat, shes dangerous, elusive and untamed. Her adventures
are complicated by a burgeoning relationship with Tom Lone, a
cop who has fallen for Patience but cannot shake his fascination
with the mysterious Catwoman, who appears to be responsible for
a string of crime sprees plaguing the city.
