False Rumor
Being Spread By E-Mail About Oscars

The following e-mail is floating around. It is a lie. Whatever your politics or feelings about the Oscars going ahead this Sunday, disinformation is wrong. MCN hopes that people will spread the word that this is a lie as readily as they have spread the e-mail rumor itself.

The E-mail (We have marked the misspellings.)

Ladies, Gentlemen, Others,

This action has become more dire as the Academy this morning has revealed that 15 actors will be blacklisted, banned form (sic) participating in the Oscar wards (sic) ceremony. Amoung (sic) them are MIchael Moore, a nominee, Susan Sarandon, Tim
Roth, Sean Penn, Jessica Lange, and Vanessa Redgrave.

We want to protest this action by the Academy as well. Please join us with your ideas Wed. night (stay tuned for place and time) and also, before by e-mail commitments.

There is also a grand protest scheduled by several organizations for Oscar night at Hollywood and Highland. That may be joined as well.

If you know any celebrities, you might wish to pass this info about the blacklisting on to them as it may have a bearring on their participation or feelings about the awards ! night.
