Editor's Note: We received this e-mail nine days ago, but decided
that it smelled of self-promotion. Today, Bridgette & Co. picketed
in front of 20th Century Fox with placcards reading "Beauty,"
"Freedom," "Truth," and "Love." Wacky.
But now it's news... kind of. So here's the letter and attached flyer.
HELP!!!!
"I hope you
don't mind that I put down in words how wonderful life is" now
that Moulin Rouge is in the world.
If there was ever
a movie that changed my life, it was Moulin Rouge. Cabaret?
What's with her make-up? Chicago? Who was the man with the bob
haircut? Not since Grease (twenty five years ago??) has a musical
motion picture changed lives, the industry and cinematic history all
across the world. That is why I am leading a grass-roots effort to bring
Moulin Rouge back to it's rightful home, the Theatre.
Listen, I am just
a simple drag queen, albeit an up-and-coming drag queen, that "THE
MAN" is trying to keep down. As of this writing, those know-it-all
execs at Fox won't let me past the damn receptionist. So, I have decided
to seek the media's assistance.
That is where you
come in.
Help the small but
vocal minority beat the multinational conglomerate by giving ANY TYPE
of coverage you can of THIS letter along with the URL...
http://www.PetitionOnline.com/SaveMR/petition.html
...to my online
petition to demand that those "Dukes" listen to "the
Children of the Revolution"! Help uphold the Bohemian ideals of
Truth, Beauty, Freedom and above all things, Love.
Help me SAVE SATINE!
I'm on my hands and heels here, people! I'll even PICKET, 20th Century
Fox if I have to!!!
According to the
film, and I call it a film, NOT a movie, "the greatest thing you
will ever learn is just to love and be loved in return" I love
this film. And so does everyone I have ever encountered in all my travels.
Now I'm taking this message of Love to the streets in an effort to return
to the public what this film has given me.
If you help spread
the word about this: "The audience will stop and cheer." Please
do this, so: "It will run for fifty years."
Your Sparkling Diamond,
Bridgette
