Gravity Named Best At 15th Annual Golden Trailer Awards

(Beverly Hills, May 30, 2014) — Hollywood celebrated the best in motion picture marketing at the 15th Annual Golden Trailer Awards tonight in Beverly Hills. More than 1,100 studio marketing executives, movie fans, celebrities and trailer editors were on hand as Warner Bros.’ work for Gravity titled “detached” won the Best of Show Prize and the top honor for Best Thriller.
While the Golden Trailer Awards bestows trophies in 75 different categories (full list below), only 17 were handed out live before a sold out crowd at the Saban Theater.
Warner Bros. was the big winner of the night taking home 15 Golden Trailer Awards overall.  Universal (along with Focus) won a total of nine statues while Lionsgate earned 8 wins.  Top trailer and creative vendors in the 2014 race included Ignition, whose work was honored in 14 different categories. Buddha Jones earned 7 awards while Trailer Park scored 6 of the coveted trophies.

Celebrity judges included Chris Buck, the co-director of the blockbuster animated smash Frozen, Adam Driver, who was recently announced as a member of the cast of the new Star Wars feature and is a series regular on HBO’s hit series “Girls,” Doug Ellin, creator of the HBO phenomenon “Entourage,” film and television actress Debi Mazar,  “Raising Hope” star Garret Dillahunt,  Divergent director Neil Burger, and Snow White and the Huntsman writer Evan Daugherty.
The Golden Trailer Awards were launched in 1999 by Evelyn Brady-Watters and Monica Brady as a way to recognize the best of the best in worldwide motion picture marketing. The event has become one of the most anticipated award shows of the year.
“The Golden Trailer Awards represent the absolute best in marketing innovation and creativity. The show is always a really fun night of celebration and we couldn’t be more proud of the nominees and winners,” said GTA Founder Evelyn Brady-Watters.

“We don’t have any idea what the universe is. Wise people have always told us that this is proof you shouldn’t think, because thinking leads you nowhere. You just build over this huge construction of misunderstanding, which is culture. The history of culture is the history of the misunderstandings of great thinkers. So we always have to go back to zero and begin differently. And maybe in that way you have a chance not to understand but at least not to have further misunderstandings. Because this is the other side of this question—Am I really so brave to cancel all human culture? To stop admiring the beauty in human production? It’s very difficult to say no.”

“I have a license to carry in New York. Can you believe that? Nobody knows that, [Applause] somebody attacks, somebody attacks me, oh, they’re gonna be shot. Can you imagine? Somebody says, oh, it is Trump, he’s easy pickings what do you say? Right? Oh, boy. What was the famous movie? No. Remember, no remember where he went around and he sort of after his wife was hurt so badly and kill. What?  I — Honestly, Yeah, right, it’s true, but you have many of them. Famous movie. Somebody. You have many of them. Charles Bronson right the late great Charles Bronson name of the movie come on.  , remember that? Ah, we’re gonna cut you up, sir, we’re gonna cut you up, uh-huh.

Bing!

One of the great movies. Charles Bronson, great, Charles Bronson. Great movies. Today you can’t make that movie because it’s not politically correct, right? It’s not politically correct. But could you imagine with Trump? Somebody says, oh, all these big monsters aren’t around he’s easy pickings and then shoot.”
