  1. christian says:

I HATE when liberals keep playing the Birther race card.

  2. Think says:

    Um… what, Christian?

  3. christian says:

    Irony. Or sarcasm.

  4. Don R. Lewis says:

I don’t know quite what I was “expecting” and am just killing time before work but that counter-offer was fucking hysterical. I haven’t laughed that hard at something in a good few weeks. Well played, Colbert. Well played.

  5. Christian says:

There are many many people who would like to see Trump take that offer.

  6. christian says:

Oh those liberals are so obsessed with race!

Sununu: Frankly, when you take a look at Colin Powell, you have to wonder whether that’s an endorsement based on issues or whether he’s got a slightly different reason for preferring President Obama.

Morgan: What reason would that be?

Sununu: Well, I think when you have somebody of your own race that you’re proud of being president of the United States, I applaud Colin for standing with him.

  7. Edward says:

Isn’t Sununu a conservative? Isn’t Powell a conservative? What the fuck do either of them have to do with liberals being obsessed with race?

  8. christian says:

Is irony dying a slow death here? Conservatives have a long running refrain of “Liberals Are The Ones Obsessed With Race” while their party’s freak bigot flag flies. And Sununu is claiming that the SOLE reason Powell supports Obama is because he’s “proud of somebody of your own race.”

  9. Ryan says:

Did Dave ever write about Cloud Atlas?

  10. cadavra says:

The sad part is that I made a joke on my FB page about Limbaugh saying how “those people stick together,” and maybe an hour later along comes Sununu. They’re not just bigots, they’re predictable ones.

  11. Don R. Lewis says:

What about Romney’s slogan “Obama isn’t working.” Or Palin talking about is dick size (a few months back) and dropping that Obama does a “shuck and jive” on issues this week? It’s fucking disgusting and low minded….which is the wheelhouse of the conservative right. These racist jabs are sinking in too…the election should not be this close.

  12. Christian says:

And the more they say these things the more they deny they’re saying them. In the end its actually very depressing for the nation.

  13. JAB says:

I’m a huge Colbert fan, but the teabagging thing is a bit over the top for my taste (no pun intended). I’d pay Trump just to shut up.

  14. mdoc says:

There are probably some very funny ways to rebut Trumps offer, but this isn’t one of them. What I haven’t seen is any analysis as to what Trump is getting at, the media is in no joking mood to even go there, it’s simply circle the wagons and attack the messenger. Trump can handle it.

It wasn’t that long ago that only the National Enquirer was willing to take a close look into John Edwards. Why be so defensive?

  15. mdoc says:

I’d also love to know what it is that Obama did to get the double barrel treatment from Trump. Politics isn’t a motivator for this guy, he must have been slighted by the administration. It’s clearly personal.

  16. christian says:

    “slighted by the administration.”

Meaning nobody called him at all.

“I’d also love to know what it is that Obama did to get the double barrel treatment from Trump. ”

Yes, Obama made Trump ask for his BC repeatedly.

“One of the things I wish I could do in my life would be to watch this film through somebody else’s eyes. I just can’t. I still see it as just a giant mess, and other people are seeing that it has a shape. That’s really exciting, because I still have a hard time seeing it clearly.”
~ Sarah Polley’s Greatest Wish About Stories We Tell

“Anyway, Hitchcock eventually saw a rough cut of High Anxiety. He enjoyed it. But he said nothing after it. He just left. I [thought he] wasn’t happy. The next day, about 11 o’clock in the morning, I get this enormous, beautiful case of Chateau Haut-Brion 1961. That was almost 20 years old [at the time]. I mean, it was priceless. And there were magnums six of them, in a wooden case. Haut-Brion. I mean, oh my God. I’ve still got three of them left waiting. I keep all the good wines.”
What kind of occasion is worthy? When will you know it’s time to go into number four?
“A real, real occasion. I won’t drink it just because it’s a family occasion. I’ll drink it with guys that know what a good wine is and care about, you know, exquisite wines. I have a couple of friends that know what a good wine is.”
~ Mel Brooks, Foodie
