DP: @Dealfatigue Can’t fairly blame exhibition for wild spending by studios. The audience is clearly there and still expanding internationally
“The true punk film of the festival.”
~ Romain Blondeau On Claire Denis’ Les Saluds in Les Inrocks
“It’s also defined commercially by the difference between a colorful, Hawaii-set comedy starring George Clooney and a black-and-white, prairie-based old-age odyssey featuring a straggly and unkempt Bruce Dern. All the same, Paramount Vantage should be able to ride accolades for this very fine Cannes competition entry to respectable specialized returns in fall release.”
~ McCarthy On Nebraska

I just watched Social Network. Here is my rant: it does not deserve my full attention and it is not cool. The movie is uninteresting and dull. There is really no storyline. There is no beginning or ending. Mark’s character is boring. Maybe it is meant to be boring but it is nevertheless boring. The movie has not point or even interesting small points. The minute it gets to exploring an interesting issue it moves on to something dull. There is some snappy dialogue, but it seems wasted. Fincher is wasted and so is my time.

“I’m 6 foot 2, 225 pounds, and there’s two of me”
best line of the year.
loved the winklevoss brothers. After Eisenberg, best part of Social Network.
The opening and closing scenes are both killer.
